Save Money with Online Estate Agents

With home values falling and the market under pressure, homeowners who want or need to sell their homes are looking for affordable ways to complete the transaction. In the past, of course, the only option was an estate agent who often charged exorbitant fees. But with the advent of the internet, most of the work that real estate agents do (or pretend to do) can be completed online. In fact, online estate agents are often far more effective at reaching people because they have experience doing business online.

What do they do? As you might expect, an online estate agent does the same thing as a traditional agent, only they do most of their work on the internet. That is, they contact clients, answer queries, send pictures and track down interested buyers wherever they might be.

Though many people prefer the personal attention and face time that they receive from a traditional estate agent, the truth is that these folks are paid far more than what they are worth, and the internet proves this popular assumption. By comparison, an online estate agent will handle the sale of your home for only a few hundred pounds and plus the VAT tax.

How do they do it? As you probably know, buying goods on the internet is often far cheaper than in a shop. The reason for this is simple: websites do not need a real brick and mortar building and they do not need to hire additional employees. That means that they can pass on all of the money they save on taxes, salaries, insurance and overheads to consumers. Well, the same goes for online estate agents.

These companies focus almost all of their attention on customer service and making certain that they keep in constant contact with interested buyers. They also offer virtual tours and floor plans that often entice buyers to come out and take a look at your home in person. At that point, it is up to you to play estate agent and show them around your home. Really, how hard is that? Do you really want to pay someone thousands of extra pounds to walk around your home with a file telling strangers about your home? In all honestly, this is a job you can handle on your own. And if you do decide to handle it on your own, you will likely save thousands of pounds in commission fees.
